Selena understands that choosing a residence is an important and emotional decision. Hanna Manolova, our Living environment rental advisor, takes the time to answer these questions with kindness and accuracy. She plays a key role in welcoming and supporting new residents.
Here are the four most frequently asked questions… with the answers!
What level of care do you provide?
Is there a medical team on site?
There is a great team on site! Our director of care supervises a full team, including nurses, personal support workers, nursing assistants, and a family doctor who is available on site three times monthly. We support our residents every step of the way, for example, by providing palliative care approved by CIUSSS Centre-Ouest. We also have patient lifts for individuals with reduced mobility, as well as meals and hygiene assistance. Simply put, we deliver everything necessary to ensure residents’ comfort and dignity.
What activities do you provide?
This is where we stand out! Our recreational coordinator leads a dynamic team that leads activities seven days a week—something almost unique in the residential care sector. The walking club meets every morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., and there is a variety of activities to choose from, including music therapy, arts and crafts, gentle gymnastics, adapted boxing, animal therapy, karaoke, board games, bingo, and a book club. In the evening, each household benefits from occupational stimulation integrated into care plans. Our staff organizes personalized and stimulating activities.
Does everyone have their own personal routine?
Absolutely! This is one of our greatest strengths. We adapt each resident’s routine taking into account their life story, preferences, and needs. At Selena, everyone is treated like a unique person😊
Can we decorate the apartment ourselves?
Yes, and we strongly encourage the families of our residents to do so! This is essential to facilitating the transition and adaptation process. We want the apartment to feel like home: personal furniture, paintings, frames, favourite armchairs, bedspreads... anything that brings comfort and a sense of belonging.
We’re always happy to take the time to listen to you and guide you without any pressure.
